Four Desks, One Inbox
Host Rehberi is not a newsroom or an agency. It is a handful of writers who share an interest in how technology shapes ordinary working lives, and who prefer explaining things to selling them. We each write under a pen name, partly for privacy and partly because we would rather the articles speak for themselves.
How the work is split
Every guide has one main writer and one second reader. The main writer researches the topic, drafts the piece and gathers the questions a reader is likely to have. The second reader looks for jargon, gaps and claims that go further than the evidence allows. Neither of us publishes a guide the other has not read.
We divide topics roughly by interest. One of us looks after work and small-business pieces, another follows home technology and streaming, a third covers life in another country and everyday money questions, and a fourth acts as the copy desk for all of it. Our about page introduces each of us by pen name.
Our limits, stated plainly
We are curious, careful readers of manuals, help pages and official guidance. We test ideas on our own devices and in our own homes where that is possible. We are not licensed financial advisers, lawyers, doctors or immigration professionals, and nothing on this site should be read as personal advice. When a subject needs that kind of expertise, our articles say so plainly.
What guides our choices
When we decide what to write next, we start from the questions readers actually ask: how to get a slow computer moving again, how to make a home office comfortable, how to plan a move to another country without missing a step. We would rather publish a careful answer to a modest question than a vague answer to a grand one.
We also try to keep each guide useful over time. When something changes, we update the article rather than leaving outdated steps in place, and larger changes are noted on the page. If you spot something that has slipped, our contact page is the place to tell us.
Where to start
If you are not sure where to begin, try one of our recent practical guides, such as how to set up a home office that works or how to start a podcast from a spare room. You will find a fuller map of the site in the Reading Corner.
How we work
What the team holds itself to
Four habits that shape every guide on the site, whatever the topic.
Read the manual first
Official help pages and guidance come before forum threads or anyone else's summary.
Try it ourselves
Where a step can be tested on our own devices, it is tested before it is published.
Pros and limits together
A tool or routine is described with the situations where it falls short.
Know when to refer
Questions about money, law, health or visas are pointed towards qualified professionals.
Before publishing
What a guide needs before it goes live
The last check every article passes on its way to the site.
- Steps appear in the order a reader would follow them.
- Nothing is stated as fact without a source we can name.
- No figures, prices or results have been guessed.
- Any money, legal or health topic carries a line about getting qualified help.
- A second writer has followed the guide from start to finish.
